This recipe has become a family favorite during holidays. We love gathering around the table to assemble our own bites with the colorful dips and star-shaped pita.

Ingredients

  • Pita Bread: 6 round pita breads
  • Dips: 1 cup classic hummus, 1 cup roasted red pepper hummus, 1 cup baba ganoush
  • Vegetables & Garnishes: 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved, 1 cup cucumber sliced, 1/2 cup Kalamata olives pitted, 1/2 cup marinated artichoke hearts quartered, 1/2 cup roasted red peppers sliced, 1/4 cup pomegranate seeds, 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped, 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, 1 tsp zaatar (optional)
  • Cheese: 100 g feta cheese cubed
  • Extras: 1 lemon cut into wedges

Instructions

Step 1:
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Step 2:
Using a star-shaped cookie cutter cut star shapes from the pita breads (reserve scraps for toasting or snacking).
Step 3:
Arrange the pita stars on a baking tray brush lightly with olive oil and bake for 5 7 minutes until crisp and golden. Remove and let cool.
Step 4:
Spoon the hummus roasted red pepper hummus and baba ganoush into separate small bowls. Swirl the tops and drizzle with olive oil sprinkle zaatar over the classic hummus if desired.
Step 5:
On a large serving board arrange the bowls of dips. Artfully place the pita stars around them.
Step 6:
Fill in the board with cherry tomatoes cucumber slices olives artichoke hearts roasted red peppers feta cubes and pomegranate seeds.
Step 7:
Garnish with chopped parsley and add lemon wedges for squeezing.
Step 8:
Serve immediately encouraging guests to dip and assemble their own bites.
